Comedy Club

Monday April 5th at the Forum Bar

Featuring some of the industries best known comedy talent, including award winning TV and Radio regulars. With no less than four comedians every show!

This month coming:

  • » Ronnie Golden

  • Ronnie Golden's journey has been a long and fascinating one.
From opening shows for Tom Jones, Scott Walker and Engelbert Humperdinck as a teenaged guitarist. But within a few short weeks of that band’s demise he was doing stand-up at London's Boulevard Theatre alongside Comic Strip regulars Rik Mayall, Ben Elton, a nascent French and Saunders and Alexei Sayle and performing a legendary 'Buddy Holly' in the first series of BBC 2's "The Young Ones." He remains the only original member from the Comic Strip team to still be actively working on today's comedy circuit.

  •

  • » Matt Parker

  • Mathematician turned comedian, Matt Parker's erudite brand of comedy takes on the topical and the daft in equal measure. Life's a game for Matt and his playful enthusiasm is so infectious you can't help but be drawn into his comedy world.
Relaxed and measured, Matt meanders through through his thoughts and suggestions as the audience enthusiastically take part. His group-hug approach to humour thinly covers a scientific calculator fast wit that is soon subtracting the piss mercilessly.

  •

  • » Lee Canterbury

  • Like a ball of energy bouncing around the stage, Lee's ability to whip up an audience has been admired from Aberdeen to Exeter. Lee started his stand-up career in 1997, when he recieved rave reviews in The Evening Standard after his very first gig. He went on to be runner up in The Hackney Empire New Act of the year in 1998 and was a finalist in The Daily Telegraph open mic competition at Edinburgh in the same year. Sharing the bill with Daniel Kitson in their show The Monkey Touchers, Lee returned with critical acclaim to Edinburgh in 1999.
